On Sept. 26, 2015, during the third quarter of Georgias game in Athens, Southern University wide receiver Devon Gales suffered a career-ending spinal injury while blocking on a kickoff return.When Gales went down, he received first-response care at Sanford Stadium. In the following months, the Georgia football team continued to support Gales during his recovery. The Bulldogs have visited him in the hospital, voiced support on social media, and arranged for Gales family to fly in from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.Georgias support of Gales and his family was recognized by the NCAA on Thursday.
