Sydney Roosters win over premiers North Queensland hasnt restored respectability to Bondi, star back-rower Boyd Cordner believes. The Roosters claimed just their third win of 2016 on Sunday, defeating the Cowboys 22-10 in round 23.It was a performance that showed what could have been for the Roosters, who will miss the NRL finals for the first time this season under coach Trent Robinson. However straight-talking NSW star Cordner said the Roosters still had some way to go to earn back the respect they once had on the back of three successive minor premierships under Robinson and the 2013 title. We havent earned back that respect to tell you the truth, probably not, we dont deserve that just yet, Cordner told AAP.We have been really inconsistent. It is only five wins, it is not enough to warrant respect. We know that. It is about being a consistent footy team all year and I dont think we have put back-to-back games together. The win over the Cowboys was one of the few times this year, the Roosters star trio of Cordner, Mitchell Pearce and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves have been on the field at the same time, due to injury and suspension. It has been pretty frustrating we havent been able to have that luxury other sides have had. We have only had our full team on the park three or four times which is really disappointing, Cordner said. But no excuses, we should have been lot better than we were at the start of the year.It is our fault the position we are in, no one elses. The Roosters face St George Illawarra, Cronulla and Brisbane over the final three rounds. We just want to finish off the year really well and get some momentum into next year, Cordner said.It is the way things are. It is frustrating. But you cant dwell on it. We can only control what is in front of us and we are looking forward to that.If we can win a few games and finish off the year well it will be good for our young blokes confidence knowing we can mix it with the best.
