Dylan Hartley has urged England to look to Chicago for inspiration as they attempt to end a decade of failure against South Africa. The autumn series at Twickenham opens with Saturdays visit of the Springboks, with the hosts keen to claim their 10th successive victory under Eddie Jones since he took over as head coach from Stuart Lancaster.Hartley has noted the recent breaking of unwanted runs in Chicago, with Ireland defeating New Zealand for the first time in their history and the Cubs baseball team claiming the World Series for the first time in 108 years. Hartley looks ahead to Englands first Autumn international against South Africa on Saturday But rather than dwell on Englands poor string of results against the Springboks of nine defeats and a draw, Hartley believes they have the quality to claim a confidence-boosting victory.Whatever happened in the past, the Irish wrote their own history and the Cubs wrote their own history, so we want to do the same as a team, said captain Hartley. England vs South Africa November 12, 2016, 2:00pm Live on Get Sky Sports Get a Sky Sports pass We are a team that have got a goal under Eddie Jones to be the best in the world and winning this game at the weekend is a huge step for us going forward as a team.Losses and wins are all in the past. We have been building for this game for a long, long time. The team is prepared and are desperate to win.The thing for us is the next step as a team. We are always focusing on the next game. Beating South Africa this weekend is just the next step in this teams progression.England have built an impressive head of steam under Jones with a Grand Slam and 3-0 series whitewash of Australia among the results that has seen them climb to second in the world rankings. We take a look back at Hartleys reign as England captain But Hartley insists that will count for little against South Africa, while drawing strength from the knowledge they are heading in the right direction. Its not a momentum roll. If we had played the Australia series and then wed gone straight into playing South Africa, then we could take momentum from that, Hartley added. What we can take from it is experience - we know that weve been in tough corners before and weve fought our way out.So its not so much about momentum, its about experiences and trusting your team-mates, knowing what it takes to regain control of the game or make the final push to win a game. We have been building for this game for a long, long time. The team is prepared and are desperate to win. Dylan Hartley People talk about us being on a run but that is only on paper. We have drawn a line under those matches. If you talk about momentum, well we have just come together as a team.South Africa are at the end of a season so they are battle-hardened but we need to find that Test match intensity in those opening exchanges and get up to speed pretty sharpish.Watch England v South Africa on Saturday. In Sandringhams 26-point win over Gippsland, he had 27 disposals, 15 contested possessions, nine marks (three contested), four tackles and seven rebound 50s.What was impressive with Scrimshaw was his ability to read the flight of the ball off an opponents boot, getting to the drop of the ball and take intercept marks in the back half. Most eye-catching was an athletic aerial mark at the back of the pack he took strongly overhead. As well as taking intercept marks, he also proved effective at ground level - he was clean picking up ground balls and delivered well by hand. The most attention-grabbing play from Scrimshaw was after a groundball pickup, when he proceeded to take on one opponent with ball in hand with his run and an evasive step, then took on a second player with another evasive step on the move. He continued running but unfortunately before disposing of the ball was called for running too far without bouncing.By foot Scrimshaw in the most part proved effective, with his long left-foot kicks delivered with a pleasing style, though he will be ruing some uncharacteristic skill errors.Analysis Scrimshaw is firmly in the first-round mix for this years national draft, with his damaging kicking, intercept marking, evasiveness, height and production by position making him arguably the most appealing general backman in this years draft class.Scrimshaw should look to gain further strength in one-on-one contests. This will allow him to hold his own against stronger opponents and take more contested marks, which with his ability to read the flight, is an element of his game that can grow further and translate well to AFL level. He could also look to take the game on more with his run and carry, as with the ease with which he sidesteps players, has the scope to have more of an impact with his run.Victorian prospect watch TAC CupBrodie Romensky of the Western Jets, a 189cm midfielder, was one of the players of the week. His 36 disposals, 24 contested possessions, seven tackles, 12 clearances, one goal and one score assist was outstanding on a losing team in a game where he at no stage dropped his head.?Western team-mate and bottom-ager Cameron Rayner also contributed well through the midfield with 28 disposals, 16 contested possessions, five tackles, eight clearances, five rebound 50s, three behinds and one score assist. Against Murray, Gow had 31 disposals, 13 contested possessions, eight marks, five tackles, five clearances, five inside 50s, one goal and one score assist. This followed a game against Western where he was North Ballarats best with 33 disposals, 17 contested possessions, nine mark (one contested), five tackles, five clearances, three inside 50s, five rebound 50s, one goal and one score assist.Gow this season has been listed in the bests nine times from his 10 games for North Ballarat and if not selected in this years AFL draft, may draw interest from VFL clubs on the basis of his impressive play this season.Willem Drew continued to do his thing at stoppages. He had 24 disposals, five marks (one contested), 18 contested possessions, seven tackles, nine clearances, six inside 50s, two goals and one score assist. Jiath impressed with his clean ball use and McKeon with his linebreaking taking on the game at great pace with ball in hand.South Australian prospect watchSANFLReserves Ben Jarmans 16 disposals, six contested possessions, four marks, three clearances and two goals was a good return for North Adelaide at Reserves level.Jordan Sweet contributed well through the ruck for North Adelaide with 10 disposals, six marks, 20 hitouts and one score assist.Tyson Stengle for Woodville West Torrens, a 171cm small forward made the most of his opportunities with four goals from his nine disposals.Brennan Cox, who was selected at centre half-back in the AFL Under-18 All Australian Team, impressed up forward with 14 disposals, nine marks (three contested) and four goals. This is following on from a 34-disposal (12 contested), 12-tackle, seven-clearance, six-inside 50, one-score assist effort in his previous game, two weeks ago.Wildman was in the mix for selection in last years draft and with further strong performances may be a player to watch if he receives some games at League level over the coming weeks.Steven Slimmings 17 disposals, five marks, 12 contested possessions, six tackles, five inside 50s and one score assist was a good return.
